Baltic Amber Teething Necklaces

Natural calmative, analgesic and anti-inflammatory

A natural analgesic, amber will have a calming and soothing effect on a baby without resorting to over the counter drugs and remedies during teething. An amber teething necklace is not designed to be chewed on by a baby! When a baby is teething and the amber teething necklace is worn on the skin, the skin's warmth releases healing oils from the amber (a resin) which are absorbed via the skin into the bloodstream. Unlike teething gels, powders or pain relief syrups, the traditional beaded amber necklaces imported from the Baltic region are a less intrusive remedy for teething pain and side effects of teething, such as drooling, lack of appetite, upset tummies, ear ache, fevers and colds. Our amber teething necklaces and braclets are handmade from natural high quality Baltic amber, by Lithuanian artists. Amber is not a stone and therefore warm to the touch, as well as very comfortable and light to wear. The necklaces are knotted after every individual amber bead and the necklace fastens with a screw clasp. In the extremely unlikely event of the string being broken, only one bead will come off. The beads are light and small, each about the size of a pea. The bead is therefore too small for a baby or child to choke on. If a baby or child should swallow a bead from the necklace, it won't be harmful since it is completely non-toxic. Amber used to be ground up and swallowed in medicinal mixtures. The size, colour and shape of the amber beads and the length will vary from necklace to necklace. This is natural Baltic amber, not heated, stabilized or bleached. The necklace may be worn from 8 weeks and up. Although you can start your child wearing an amber necklace at any time, the earlier the better. If your child wears it at a young age they will not even know it is there and they will not touch it or pull on it.

For night time use we recommend that you take the necklace from around the baby's neck and place it around the ankle (wrapped comfortable a few times round and fastened) under footed pajamas.

Due to amber bracelets being made using an elastic thread without any knots between the beads they can only be recommend for use with children 3 years and older.
