Where is you company based?

Little Acorns to Mighty Oaks is based in Leicestershire, United Kingdom, where all of our order are shipped from directly to our customers.

How long has your business been running?

Little Acorns to Mighty Oaks was established our business back in August 2008.

Why did you start Little Acorns to Mighty Oaks?

Back when BPA was discovered to be detrimental to heath, I was working as a Nanny in London looking after a baby boy - the baby bottles he used contained BPA, and on a quest to find safe replacements for him, I discovered that there was not a single Stainless Steel baby bottle or sippy cup available on the UK market.  The shipping and £8 handling fee + customs and duties that I was nailed with after having a cup sent from the US made me think there had to be a better option.  The founding product was the Klean Kanteen Sippy back in 2008, Little Acorns to Mighty Oaks was the first company in the UK to retail Klean Kanteen, and it is a brand is still stocked to this day, as we have just not found another brand that compares.

Why are the wooden toys you stock so expensive?

All the brands of wooden toys which we stock are made from solid European hardwoods (not pressed wood such as mdf which is bound with toxic glues). Further to this all the toys are made in Europe by craftsmen who are paid a fair living wage.

What kind of packaging do you use?

We use on recyclable and/or recycled packaging materials.  Your order may arrive in a box which we have received from a supplier - we think it is a far better option to reuse packaging materials where possible rather than immediately recycling them.

How long will it take for me to recieve my order?

We endeavour to dispatch all orders within 24hrs (Mon-Thurs), orders are sent either standard 1st class, 2nd class signed for or by courier at our discretion depending on size and value of the order.

What is your P&P charge?

We charge £3 P&P (after the VAT man has taken his cut this leaves us with £2.50 which does not cover our actually shipping costs).

Shipping is free to mainland UK on orders over £40.

Lots of the large toys say they are not available to ship to NI and Channel Islands - Why is this?

Unfortunately couriers charge 4 times as much for large packages to go to NI and CI as they do to go to mainland UK - we simply can not absorb this enormous cost on the larger toys.

Why do you not have a phone number on your website?

As well as running Little Acorns to Mighty Oaks solely, I am a very busy fully time Mama to three small children who are in with me 24/7.  Taking phone calls with three little ones under foot (with the youngest being a screechy toddler!) is just not compatible!  I do check in on emails several times a day, so any queries are responded to most quickly and efficiently this way.
