Ostheimer Lion

Thanks to my mighty mane and my sublime size and composure, I'm considered the king of beasts. I'm the lion father from Ostheimer and once I have eaten my fill, I like to find a shady spot and sleep for hours. Or I move leisurely through the savannah to find a watering hole. But I'm also a fast hunter and my powerful roar can be heard from miles away.

Ostheimer-Figures are hand-crafted in Germany, our lumber comes from sustainable domestic forestry. Each product is a unique item individually shaped with love and care. Thus, our toys allow children to immerse themselves into the vivid imaginative world of play. All materials used in our toys are certified. They guarantee not only toys of the highest quality but also safety for your child at play.

Ostheimer wooden toys are produced exclusively from high quality native hardwood, maple and elm. Slight differences in colour and slight deviations in the structure of the grain are not defects, but instead contribute to the special charm and uniqueness of Ostheimer figures. The design and the colour is based on the awareness that the children must still be able to feel and experience the wood.

Their form and colour are purposely kept to a minimum so that your child's fantasy world is preserved and so that their own creative imagination inspires their play. . There is no "right" or "wrong" way to play with Ostheimer buildings or animals and therein lies the beauty of these wonderful wooden toys. Over 50 years ago Margarete Ostheimer began a collection of toys which today more than ever is justified and necessary. The collection was established fifty years ago as an alternative to a "plastic world" and is today a necessary counterweight to the "high tech world" of the playroom.
